Bitcoin Open Heads to Glen Abbey for Historic Golf and Poker Event
The Bitcoin Open, a unique fusion of golf and poker, will take place on June 8, 2026 at the iconic Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. Organizers announced the event today, marking the first time the tournament will be held at the famed Canadian course during its 50th anniversary year.
"Glen Abbey is synonymous with championship golf in Canada. Hosting the Bitcoin Open here during its golden anniversary is a perfect alignment of tradition and innovation," said Jordan Miller, spokesperson for Bitcoin Sports Network.
Event Details: Golf and Poker on June 8
The day kicks off with a scramble-format golf tournament on the championship course, followed by an evening Texas Hold'em poker tournament. The golf portion is team-based, typically with groups of four players. Field size is limited, with organizers noting strong demand and only a few team spots remaining as of mid-May 2026.
Registration is open via the official event website, with tickets covering both golf and poker, plus on-course meals and networking periods.
Prizes Include Bitcoin Jackpots and More
Two separate hole-in-one awards will each pay out one Bitcoin. Additional golf prizes include longest drive and closest to the pin. Golf winners also receive tickets to the 2027 Bitcoin Golf Championship in Nashville, Tennessee, held ahead of the 2027 Bitcoin Conference. The poker tournament champion takes home $5,000 CAD in stablecoins.
"The Bitcoin prizes reflect our community's ethos—creative, direct, and rewarding. We expect fierce competition on the course and at the tables," added Miller.

A wide array of sponsors have signed on for the 18 holes, including APX Lending, Tetra Digital Group, The Canadian Bitcoin Conference, Satstreet, True North Airways, Ledn, Gator Mining Inc., Wealthsimple, CAD DIGITAL, PRIVATEDEBT Partners, McCarthy Tetrault, and Samara Asset Group. Satstreet, a Canadian Bitcoin-focused company, is also co-hosting the event.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1976, Glen Abbey is one of Canada's most recognized golf venues. It has hosted the Canadian Open multiple times and is known for its championship layout. Located about 30 minutes west of Toronto, the public facility has a rich history in professional golf.
